3-9-08 Sharks End Season on Winning Note 4-2
It was a rough start as the Admirals scored on the first shift of the game just 19 seconds in. The rest of the period was good end to end action with the Sharks gaining momentum. End of 1 Sharks 0 Admirals 1. The beginning of the second the Sharks continued their strong play when finally Doucet got us on the board from Marten and Greenwood. The Sharks continued to frustrate the Admirals as they started to take penalties but at the ice cut it was Sharks 1 Admirals 1. After the cut the Sharks came out flying, Henry got us the lead just 2 minutes in from Kazarnovsky and Vallis. That would not last long though as the Admirals would tie it up just a few minutes later. It was too little too late for the Admirals as the Sharks dominated the game out shooting them 40-17. Vallis got us the lead back on the PP from Henry and Kazarnovsky. 22 seconds later Senkbeil ripped home the big slapper from Che and Marten. It was a rough weekend but the boys finished on a high note. I am very proud of what these boys were able to do this season and they and you should be as well. End of 3 Sharks 4 Admirals 2.
3-7-08 All Stars Shine Way To Bright For Sharks 10-1
There is not a whole lot to say about this one. We were no match for the All Stars. We were making very basic mistakes over and over. Vallis got the lone goal for the Sharks from Henry and Kazarnovsky. Sharks look forward to their 8 am game vs the team from Seattle.
3-6-08 Wave Crash Down On Sharks 4-2
The first period was all Wave. 14 out of 17 minutes of the period were played in our zone. The Wave got on the board with a PP goal 5 minutes in. They added another 3 minutes later. Up 2 nothing the boys started to finally play. Henry got us on the board with .23 seconds left from Reclusado and Vallis. End of 1 Sharks 1 Wave 2. The second was very evenly matched with neither team scoring. End of 2 Sharks 1 Wave 2. Early in the third the Sharks tied it up on the PP Baron from Greenwood and Marten. The Sharks had a great chance to take the lead with a 5 on 3 PP in the middle of the period, but instead gave up 2 short handed breakaways. Mullane saved the first but the second was to much as the Wave would take the lead. That let all the air out of the Sharks as the Wave was all over them after that adding another later period goal. End of 3 Sharks 2 Wave 4.
3-3-08 Off To Alaska
The Team is traveling to the Great North West this weekend for the Regional playoffs. Stay tuned for updated immediately after the games.
2-17-08 10 Kazarnovsky Tricks as Sharks Blow Away Leafs 6-1
Last game of the weekend. 10 Boys for a 9pm second game of the day where they started out tired and giddy. The first period was not good hockey, the boys were just messing around not concentrating. The Leafs got on the board first mid way through the period but the lead would not last long as Vallis tied it up shortly after from Kazarnovsky. Vallis had a 4 point game while Kazarnovsky led the way with 5 points. End of 1 Sharks 1 Leafs 1. In the intermission the boys got it together saying enough messing around lets not end on a bad note. Kazarnovsky got us the lead with his first of 3 early in the second from Reclusado and Baron then adding another before the end of the period on the PP from Vallis and Henry. End of 2 Sharks 3 Leafs 1. Vallis got his second from Kazarnovsky mid way through the period. Doucet blocked a shot that sprung him on a breakaway which he buried 5 hole. Then with 35 seconds left we got Vallis and Kazarnovsky out there so one of them could get their hat trick and with .01 on the clock Kazarnovsky got it from Vallis on a short handed goal. End of 3 Sharks 6 Leafs 1. It was really nice to see the boys want to keep their standard of play high after that first period and really go after the Edmonton team. All should be very proud of this group.
2-17-08 Entire Wave Team To Much For Half Sharks Team 4-1
The Wave came out flying making sure they were going to prove a point. Our 10 Sharks Skaters really held their own keeping the game tight. The Wave would put up the only tallies in the first netting 2 but the Sharks would not get down as they continued to play tough. End of 1 Sharks 0 Wave 2. Early in the Second the Sharks would get on the board with a PP goal from Kazarnovsky assisted by Phillips and Doucet. The Sharks really kept the energy up getting some great scoring chances but just could not get it in the net. The energy lasted most of the way through the second but the Wave would add a late goal and by then our boys were exhausted. End of 2 Sharks 1 Wave 3. The boys played smart in the the third not allowing the Wave any really good scoring chances but they were very tired. The Wave would add one more mid way through the period and that would be it. Our boys were great, they all worked their butts off to stay in this one, its so hard to play when you are that tired. End of 3 Sharks 1 Wave 4.
2-16-08 10 Is Enough! 4-3
This was another tough one. The boys worked their butts off. When we had the energy we were all over them. We went up 4 0 but when the gas ran out the Blackhawks took advantage. Reclusado got us on the board first with a breakaway goal from Fitzgerald. Kazarnovsky got 2 goals today the first from Vallis just before the end of the period. End of 1 Sharks 2 Blackhawks 0. Early in the second Kazarnovsky got his second from Vallis and Henry. At the 6:19 mark Senkbeil added a PP goal from Doucet and Reclusado. After that goal the boys went limp. They had nothing left. As the Blackhawks would pin us in our end and adding 2 goals of their own. End of 2 Sharks 4 Blackhawks 2. In the first minute of the third the Blackhawks would add a carry over PP goal to draw within one. The boys really hunkered down after that playing a smart game making all the little right plays. The Sharks would have to kill off another late PP by the Blackhawks but did and got away with the win. Watching these boys this weekend has been really impressive. End of 3 Sharks 4 Blackhawks 3.
2-15-08 Sharks Were Awesome in 3-1 Loss
We only played with 3 Defensemen 5 forwards and a Coach who has not been on the bench with our team all season against a top 30 team. The first period the Stars came out flying but the Sharks held them off. Vallis got us on the board with a short handed goal stealing a pass from the goalie and putting it in the empty net. The boys controlled the rest of the period. End of 1 Sharks 1 Nevada Stars 0. The second the boys started to slow a little but still controlling play getting several good scoring chances but could not add another tally. The Stars would tie it up with a PP goal mid way through the period and our boys were working their butts off. End of 2 Sharks 1 Nevada Stars 1. The third period our boys just had nothing left. playing smart but so tired they could not even ice the puck. The Stars would add a fluke 5 on 5 goal and another PP goal. Mullane played great against a on slot of shots from the Stars. I am very proud of the boys they did a great job. End of 3 Sharks 1 Nevada Stars 3.
2-8-08 Sharks Surf Wave To Regional's 5-3
State Champions!!! First Tier 1 State Championship ever for the Jr. Sharks and Northern California!!! Congratulations for making a huge mark on Northern California Ice Hockey!!! There was no holding the Sharks back today. They controlled the game from the drop of the puck. Kazarnovsky, Vallis, Henry were absolutely huge leading the way offensively as Hernandez, Phillips, Baron, Reclusado, Senkbeil, Kann, Gularte and Che worked very hard shutting down all the Wave PP chances. Kazarnovsky got us on the board first from Henry and Vallis but that would not last long as the Wave would come right back with a 4 on 4 goal. Vallis would get us the lead back from Reclusado and Che with 27 seconds left in the period. End of 1 Sharks 2 Wave 1. Early in the second the Sharks went on the PP and Gularte drove home the rebound goal from Senkbeil and Henry. The Wave would close the Shark lead just 3 minutes later. with .01 on the clock Kazarnovsky would tip home the PP shot from Kann and Senkbeil. End of 2 Sharks 4 Wave 2. The Wave came out very hungry after the ice cut but the Sharks would weather the storm. The Wave would pull their goalie with 1:20 left and it was a perfect move by the Wave coach as they would add their 3rd goal with the extra attacker. After the ensuing face off they would pull the goalie again but this time it did not work as Kazarnovsky made a beautiful chip play out of the zone to Henry who skated down and sealed the State Championship for us. What a great day for the team and the entire Sharks organization. I am very proud of you guys and you should be proud of yourself's as well. End of 3 Sharks 5 Wave 3.
2-8-08 Sharks Selects Championship Game 2-1
The Sharks came out flying controlling play the entire first half of the first period. Vallis got us on the board early from Henry. Just before the period would end the Selects would tie it up with a break away goal. End of 1 Sharks 1 Selects 1. There was no scoring in the second or third, but there was lots of good hockey. With less than 10 seconds in the game the Selects would take 2 penalties allowing the Sharks to take a 5 on 3 PP into the Overtime. Phillips would secure the spot in the championships with the PP goal from Senkbeil and Greenwood. Off to the Championships Vs. the Wave. End of OT Sharks 2 Selects 1
2-8-08 Kings Continue Rein Over Sharks 5-2
The speed of the Kings continue to prove to much for the Sharks. The first period was good end to end action with the only goal coming late in the period for the Kings. End of 1 Sharks 0 Kings 1. Early in the second The Kings would add a PP goal to extend their lead. End of 2 Sharks 0 Kings 2. The third period saw the Sharks continue to fall behind when the Kings would add 2 more PP goals early before the Sharks could get on the board. Kann finally got us on the board from Vallis and Kazarnovsky. The Sharks would add another with 3:53 left in the period from Senkbeil and Kann but that would not last long as the Kings would add another just a minute later. End of 3 Sharks 2 Kings 5. It was hard for the boys to keep up their intensity after the morning skate but they gave it their all.
2-8-08 Sharks Surf Wave 2-0
WOW! did the boys ever come ready to play. Everyone gave everything they had to get this win and everyone should be very proud of them. In the first period the Sharks would kill 2 Wave power plays, Then get the first goal of the game when Vallis buried the rebound shot from Senkbeil and Kazarnovsky on the Sharks only PP of the period. End of 1 Sharks 1 Wave 0. The second was almost identical to the first killing 2 more Wave PP's and adding 1 more when Phillips made a great play diving to smack in the rebound PP shot from Senkbeil and Baron on their only PP of the period. Hernandez was amazing making several highlight reel saves to keep the Wave scoreless. End of 2 Sharks 2 Wave 0. The third period was end to end but the Sharks would not give anything up killing the only PP of the period and blocking shots left and right. This was the team we have been waiting for all season. End of 3 Sharks 2 Wave 0.
1-26-08 Energy Squeak By With 0.01 Seconds 2-1
The Sharks played their best game of the weekend so far. The First period was a little slow which allowed the Energy to jump out to the early lead. End of 1 Sharks 0 Energy 1. The second period the boys really started playing as they controlled the play. Henry tied the game up from Kazarnovsky and Gularte. It was good to see the boys finally play their first period of the weekend. End of 2 Sharks 1 Energy 1. The third was more of the same. The Sharks were all over the Energy getting several good scoring chances but were unable to capitalize. The Energy needed the win to move on so they pulled the goalie with just under a minute to go and were able to score with .01 seconds left on the clock. From all observers including the Energy the buzzer rang before the puck ever went in but that was the call. End of 3 Sharks 1 Energy 2.
1-25-08 Long Island Way To Royal For Sharks 8-1
Flatter and flatter we play. 6 minutes in it was 5-0. Chances all went the way of the Royals. It was a very ugly game to watch. I do however want to give a heads up to people at home, Kazarnovsky, Baron, Gularte and Che have been stand outs. Marten got our only goal on a center ice dump in that bounced in front of the goalie and caught him sleeping and trickled between his legs, not even a goal we can count as a good scoring chance. Tune in tomorrow for game 3.
1-24-08 Alliance Blank Sharks 5-0
We played the game with 8 forwards and 4 defensemen and it showed. The boys played like they lost the game before warm ups even started. The first period was the only even play but the Bulldogs would get a PP goal to take the lead. End of 1 Sharks 0 Alliance 1. Unfortunately the trend continued as once the other team scores the first goal everyone on our bench hangs their head and backs off. In the second the Alliance would add 1 early then 2 more on the PP as the Sharks were tired and taking lots of hooking and tripping penalties. End of 2 Sharks 0 Alliance 4. The Sharks came out after the cut a little better but gave up the fifth goal and then the game went to running time. Boys were flat and tired. End of 3 Sharks 0 Alliance 5.
1-12-08 Titans Take Game 1 3-0
Details to come...
1-12-08 Titans Sharks Tie Game 2 1-1
The Sharks jumped out with a strong start, drawing a early penalty and scoring on the ensuing PP on a point shot from Gularte from Vallis. We out shot the Titans 40 to 15 but could not get anything else behind the Titan net minder. End of 1 Sharks 1 Titans 0. The second was more of the same the Sharks dominated play but just could not finish. End of 2 Sharks 1 Titans 0. Early in the third on a semi broken play the Titan forward backhanded one by Mullane who was awesome the rest of the game to knot it up at 1. The Titans had very little chances during the game but the Sharks just could not drive the puck into the net for the lead. End of 3 Sharks 1 Titans 1.
1-13-08 Sharks Take Game 3 6-2
We came out a little slow but slowly built momentum during the game. We took a early penalty and the Titans were able to capitalize. The Sharks had to hold off the Titans for the rest of the first period as they came hard and were flying up and down the ice. End of 1 Sharks 0 Titans 1. Less than a minute in to the second the Sharks got on the board with their own PP goal from Reclusado and Kazarnovsky. Kazarnovsky really got it going for us with 4 points a goal and three assists. Hernandez really held us in the game early stopping the Titans rush early. Kazarnovsky got his goal from Vallis to get us the lead. Just over a minute later the Titans tied it up. Shortly after Greenwood stole a pass and scored on a breakaway. End of 2 Sharks 3 Titans 2. Early in the third Baron extended the lead from Kazarnovsky and Phillips. A rash of penalties over the rest of the period saw the Sharks get a 4 on 4 goal from Kann with helpers from Senkbeil and Greenwood. Vallis finished the scoring with a PP goal from Kazarnovsky and Senkbeil. End of 3 Sharks 6 Titans 2. A good way to finish the weekend after 2 lack luster performances in the previous 2 games.
1-7-08 Update For Everyone
Sorry for not updating the website over this weekend, I had lots of problems including the weather knocked out our power for a while and it took me a while to get my server back online. Taylor Licolli was injured during our first game, he sustained a lacerated splean, but they were able to fix it, everything is progressing very well minus his discomfort. He is still in the hospital in Phoenix at Scottsdale Osborn Hospital and should be released Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. I will be updating the game info in the next day or so.
12-29-07 Kings Finish Season Sweep of Sharks 6-3
The Kings fast transition game just too much for the Sharks. They got two quick goals in the first 5 minutes of the game and you could see the wind blow right out of the Sharks. The rest of the period the Kings controlled the play and the Sharks were just doing everything they could to hang on. The Sharks were just not ready for the start of this one. End Of 1 Sharks 0 Kings 1. During the break the boys rallied each other and in the first minute Kazarnovsky got us on the board from Vallis and Henry. That did not last long as they next shift the Kings got the 2 goal lead back. The Sharks would draw back within 1 on Kazarnovsky's second from Henry and Vallis. The rest of the period was good end to end action with the Sharks really showing they can play with this team for the first time this season. The Kings would add 2 more terrible goals late in the second less than a minute apart to finish the period. End of 2 Sharks 2 Kings 5. The third period was very even play but the Kings would add one more 7 minutes in but listing to the boys on the bench was great as they never gave up and really fought even being down 4 goals. Doucet would get our third goal from Reclusado and Marten late. We were really frustrating the Kings late as we had several good chances and they started taking lots of dumb penalties. We were on the PP the last 3 minutes of the game but were not able to add any more. End of 3 Sharks 3 Kings 6. This was a great game for the Sharks as they really built some confidence in the second half of the game showing that we can defiantly play with the very good Kings team.
12-28-07 Sharks Lock With Selects 2-2
Again the boys really were prepared to gain control in this CAHA league game. We got the first goal when Baron went hard to the net and finished the rebound from the Licolli shot. Shortly after the Selects would tie it up with a PP goal. End of 1 Sharks 1 Selects 1. The Selects would be the only ones to add a tally in the second when they got a lucky goal when we tried chipping the puck to the boards and hit a falling Select player in the leg and bouncing in. End of 2 Sharks 1 Selects 2. The Sharks came out in the third with real jump as they controlled the period. Phillips would tie it up for us late in the period on a PP from Vallis and Gularte. End of 3 Sharks 2 Selects 2. The boys had a great day and are really putting the last couple of weeks poor play behind them.
12-28-07 Sharks Take Season Lead Back From Titans 3-0
The Sharks came out ready to play and it showed as just a few minutes in Vallis put us on the board from Baron and Henry. The Sharks controlled the flow the rest of the period. End of 1 Sharks 1 Titans 0. The second was more of the same as the boys really had control. The Sharks would add one more this period when Marten got his first of the season on a beautiful passing play from Doucet and Sudol. End of 2 Sharks 2 Titans 0. Mullane really controlled the game for us as he was solid in net taking away any chances the Titans could muster up. Licolli Finished the scoring for us late in the third from Senkbeil and Phillips. This was a great game for us against a CAHA rival. End of 3 Sharks 3 Titans 0.
12-27-07 Lowly Sharks Bow Down To Kings 7-1
The Sharks spent everything they had in the morning tilt and forgot that they had to play again today. It was not pretty as the Kings dominated the game from the drop of the puck. End of 1 Sharks 0 Kings 3. I do have to say, the refereeing was the most lopsided and inconsistent we have had yet this year. We had a small spark early in the second when we got our first goal in three games against the Kings. That did not last long as the Kings would add 2 more before the end of the period. End of 2 Sharks 1 Kings 5. During the ice cut we talked about being very aggressive in the third just so the Kings knew they had a game today, we totaled 3 hits the entire period. The Kings would then add 2 more goals to freeze the Sharks in the ice. End of 3 Sharks 1 Kings 7. It was very ugly to watch.
12-27-07 Sharks In Feeding Frenzy on Cougar 6-1
The Sharks came out with a edge to their attitude and it showed in their game. They executed their game plan perfectly. Doucet got us on the board early with a great rebound goal from Cochran and Kazarnovsky. The Sharks then took a couple of penalties but dominated the 5 on 4 and 5 on 3 kill. Shortly after Kazarnovsky got his on the PP from Kann and Marten. End of 1 Sharks 2 Cougars 0. The second period the Sharks was more of the same until the 11 minute mark when the all the power went out in the rink. The could not get the lights back on so They did a ice cut while the lights where warming back up. After the game resumed the Cougars had their only control of the game when they were all over us 4 shifts in a row. Our boys got pissed on the bench and really rallied each other to get going again. That worked as Doucet got his second of the game off some great hard work behind the net by Marten. Less than a minute later Vallis blew a slap shot from the top of the circles right past the Cougar goalie from Kazarnovsky's 3rd point of the game. End of 2 Sharks 4 Cougars 0.Then some chippy stuff started but all penalties were matching, until the Cougars could not keep control and gave us another PP. This time Licolli with a unbelievable snipe shot over the short side blocker from Greenwood and Che. Greenwood got his own just a couple minutes later from Henry and Vallis. The Cougars only goal came with only 2:20 left in the third when all 5 of their players ended up in the crease banging away. We completely controlled the game and it was fun to watch the boys playing well again. End of 3 Sharks 6 Cougars 1.
12-15-07 Thunder Strikes Sharks 4-1
Sorry for the late results but Details To Follow.
12-15-07 Sharks Wrangle Rocky Mountian 3-1
Sorry for the late results but Details To Follow.
12-14-07 Mercer Chiefs Have No Mercy For Sharks 4-1
The good news is the boys played their first good period of hockey in quite a while. Everyone was competing strong on the puck and it was nice to see people wanting to win. End of first half Sharks 0 Chiefs 0. In the locker room between periods the boys started feeling a little cocky thinking the Chiefs were not very good and thinking about what the other team was up to and not what we were supposed to do. Well that is the game they brought in the second as Mercer controlled the play and the Sharks that played the last 5 games were back in full force. They watched the Chiefs skate around, they got beat in every battle and the Chiefs added 3 unanswered goals to run the table. The problem I am seeing is these boys know we are as good or better than any of the teams here, but they are expecting the other teams to stay on the bench and let us play for fun. When they learn they have to earn the win they will get the win. NO INTENSITY, and they just DON'T HATE TO LOSE.
12-14-07 Texas Savagely Attacks Sharks 6-3
We just cannot get out of this funk. We as a team are just not competing, There is no Hatred of loosing on the team. Texas struck first just 24 seconds into the game while we all stood and watched how wonderful they were. Just a couple of minutes later they would add a PP goal with 2 passes right across the front of the net as all 4 PKers watched the puck fly right by them. Vallis, Henry and Doucet were our best guys on the ice today and they got us on the board when Vallis finished a nice cycle play out of the corner from Henry. We spent the next 10 minutes short hand and they added another PP goal. Che got his first of the season from Henry to Draw within one. End of first half Sharks 2 Attack 3. The second was more of the same but we were able to tie it up 10 minutes in when Kazarnovsky knocked in the Sudol rebound. That was it for the Sharks they stopped playing all together after that. The Attach already had 2 PP goals and in the next few minutes they would add 2 short handed goals the first was a 5 on 3 and the second was a 5 on 4, lazy lazy lazy work by the Sharks. The Attack would add another 5 on 5 goal to finish up. The boys just continued their very lazy play from last weekend. End of 2 Sharks 3 Attack 6
12-10-07 Wave Crashes Down On Sharks And Sweep Weekend Match up
The California Wave came up from Southern California to play the Sharks 3 times over the weekend and left with all three wins. The first game was 6-0, The second game was 4-1 and the third game was 4-2. We steadily got better over the course of the weekend but the first two games we were not working hard to compete. The last 2 periods of the last game we were finally good. The boys were really put in their place this weekend and we will see how its changed their attitude at practices this week. The boys are off to Saint Louis this weekend for some more tough competition. Thank you to the Wave for coming up to Northern California to play us this weekend.
11-19-07 Licolli, Senkbeil, Fitzgerald Win Second 3 on 3 Tournament!
Another great time for all of us, Great job boys.
11-18-07 Sharks Outshoot Titans 41-18 But Can't Pull it off 2-1
The first period they came out flying really putting pressure on the Sharks but the Sharks held strong. Then by the end of the first the Sharks were applying the pressure. End of 1 Sharks 0 Titans 0. The Titans would get several PP chances during this game way more than the Sharks including a almost 2 minute 5 on 3 which they would capitalize on. That was the only goal as the Sharks were lighting up the Titans goalie but he was unbreakable. End of 2 Sharks 0 Titans 1. The Titans would add another just seconds into the third on a broken play, but that was there last chance of the period. The Sharks had the puck 80% of the period and the only other times it got in our zone was on center ice dump ins. Sudol would get us on the board with a rare PP from Vallis and Reclusado. During the last 4 minutes the Titans could not even get the puck out of the zone and we missed 2 empty netter's and a third were the puck was on the line but never crossed. The Titans goalie was awesome but I think the Sharks will be ready for the match up in 2 weeks back in San Jose. End of 3 Sharks 1 Titans 2.
11-17-07 Blackhawk Down 6-1
The boys started out a little sloppy, but that did not last long. The Blackhawks came out flying and got on the board early in the first but then we settled down and the rest was pure one sided. We out shot them 24-13 and 8 of there shots were mostly dump ins. Phillips got us on the board to tie it up before the end of the first on the PP from Senkbeil and Licolli. End of 1 Sharks 1 Blackhawks 1. The Sharks ran away in the second adding 3 more. The first was Reclusado from Licolli and Greenwood. Next was Doucet on a breakaway off a beautiful pass from Sudol. Then Archer got his first of the game from Fitzgerald and Henry. End of 2 Sharks 4 Blackhawks 1. The Third was more of the same as the Sharks completely controlled the period. We would add 2 more the first was Archer with his second of the game from Fitzgerald. Greenwood finished the scoring from Phillips and Sudol. A very good game that we controlled the whole time. End of 3 Sharks 6 Blackhawks 1.
11-17-07 Sharks Conquer Titans 2-1
A slow start by both teams but the Sharks played great to hold off the Titans. Reclusado got us on the board with 1:51 left in the first period from Kazarnovsky. The rest of that period was just a lot of end to end actions with no real good chances on either side. End of 1 Sharks 1 Titans 0. The Sharks really picked it up after that limiting the Titans to only a couple good scoring chances the rest of the way. Doucet knocked in the rebound from Che and Vallis to extend the lead to 2. The Sharks really locked down the Titans as we adjusted our forecheck and kept them pinned most of the period. The Titans would get a late goal off a shot from the top of the circle with lots of traffic in front. End of 2 Sharks 2 Titans 1. The Titans really picked up their game in the third bringing the hitting and speed. The Sharks stayed calm and kept playing right with them. Mullane was great taking any chance the Titans had away and all the boys really bared down when the Titans pulled their goalie. A great game to continue out great play from last weekend. End of 3 Sharks 2 Titans 1.
11-12-07 Sharks Lock Horns With Bison U18AA 2-2
After a strong weekend the boys would match up with the Boulder Bison U18AA team who was at the top of their division after the round robin games. The boys came out a little tenative but held strong playing good smart hockey. The Sharks would get on the board first when Licolli would put away Phillips rebound. Shortly after the Bison would tie it up when we left the front of the net to attack the guy behind leaving the man all alone in front for the easy tap in. End of First Half Sharks 1 Bison 1. After the break the Bison would get the lead on a good wrist shot from the half wall over Hernandez shoulder. Hernandez made some great saves during the game to keep us in it. Phillips would tie it up on a great play where baron chipped the puck up the ice at our blue line to Vallis who took the puck deep and centered to Jordan who just came off the bench and drove to the net. Great play against solid competition was a great way to finish up a great weekend. I am really proud of the boys. End of Second Half Sharks 2 Bison 2.
11-11-07 Mission Accomplished 3-2
We came out a little cocky, thinking this was going to be a walk through game. The Mission proved quickly that this would not be the case. There was a lot of hitting in this game from both teams. Doucet gave us the lead off a hard working crash goal from Vallis and Baron. the end of the period the Mission would tie it up with a PP goal. End of the first half Sharks 1 Mission 1. Our vets were called out by the coach to set the tone for the second and they responded. On the first shift out Licolli got us the lead from Greenwood and Phillips. On a very poor call the Mission would get a penalty shot and would capitalize on it tying the game back up. We would get a late PP and execute perfectly getting the winning goal when Senkbeil would finish the play from Kazarnovsky and Reclusado. Not our best game, we really struggled the whole time against a team that we should not. End of the Second Half Sharks 3 Mission 2.
11-11-07 Sharks Feed On Eels 7-1
WOW, We started off absolutely terrible. We could not catch passes, make passes, hit, play hockey, etc. This went on for about 8 minutes. During that time the Eels were the first to get on the board. That did not last long as the boys really settled down and got back on track. Once they did that Florida had not chance. Phillips got us on the board off a nice pass from Greenwood. Phillips got another shortly after on the PP from Senkbeil and Licolli. Senkbeil added his own just minutes later from Greenwood and Licolli. The Greenwood, Licolli, Phillips line really added the spark for the team today. End of first half Sharks 3 Eels 1. Licolli started off the scoring early in the second from Phillips and Sudol. Vallis was next from Baron and Doucet. Archer scored a breakaway goal off a sweat pass from Fitzgerald and Kann. Greenwood ended the scoring on a unassisted goal. This was the hardest thing for any team to do at any level. To play so bad for a long period of time and then be able to find their game and make the adjustments to get back on track. End of Second Half Sharks 7 Eels 1.
11-10-07 Updates From The East
The boys are being great. We have gone out to 2 restaurants and both of them came up to me after and said what a great bunch we got, plus the lady who runs the Breakfast at the hotel said she could not believe this was a hockey team how polite and respectful all the boys were, she said they get lots of hockey teams in here and they usually tear up the breakfast area but we were great. We went to the EJHL game in the afternoon and watched the Jr. Bruins beat NY Applecore 4-3 (My son had 2 assists and played pretty well) The boys all said they really liked the speed and aggressiveness of that league plus the stands were filled with college and pro scouts. Then we went and watched UHN beat Boston College 5-2 in a very good game and the boys all said they could not believe how great it would be to be in that kind of environment. The fans are all really into the games and have all kinds of chants and things they do all game long that are fun to watch. So we are having a great time and oh yeah the boys hockey has really picked it up a notch.
11-10-07 Sharks Take Advantage 2-1
The Sharks met up with a very skilled and very fast Boston Advantage team today and were able to hold them off for the 2-1 victory. Mullane was awesome in net stopping 30 of the Advantage 31 shots and in there some very nice ones to keep us in the game. Fitzgerald got us on the board first following his own rebound after some good work around the net. Baron extended the lead to 2 when he finished a great cycle play out of the corner and a great pass from Vallis. End of first half Sharks 2 Advantage 0. The second half had lots of end to end action as the speedy Advantage started sending a man to the far blue for the escape pass trying to create odd man rushes. The Sharks held in nicely not allowing that to happen and really putting the pressure on in the defensive zone. The only goal in the period would come from the Advantage one of the Sharks few breakdowns of the day when no one picked up the puck in the slot and lost it to the Advantage player who snuck it my Mullane. The boys have really picked up their game in the last 2 weeks Said Coach Alonzo after the game, all coming down to a game like this where we may have bent but never broke. The boys are really finding their responsibilities and sticking to them. End of Second Half Sharks 2 Advantage 1.
11-09-07 Greenwood Tricks Top Gun and Adds A Fourth 6-0
The boys came out flying, dominating the first. Hernandez was there the few times he was called on and got us our first shutout of the season. Reclusado got us on the board midway through the first from Licolli and Kazarnovsky. Then Greenwood took over getting a natural hat trick getting 3 goals in a 5 minute time span. The first was from Phillips and Senkbeil, the second was from Phillips, and the third was from Gularte and Licolli. Licolli finished the game with a +5 rating which led the team. The boys made a huge improvement really bringing their game to a new level. End of the 1st half Sharks 4 Top Gun 0. During the second we got a little lazy but still kept playing smart and were able to add 2 more. The first was Archer's from Fitzgerald and Sudol. The second was Greenwoods fourth of the game from Phillips who had 3 assists today. Overall a good game by the boys. Now they wait for the much tougher Boston Advantage in tomorrows tilt. End of 2nd Half Sharks 6 Top Gun 0.

11-05-07 Team 6 Phillips, Kazarnovsky, Alonzo/Henry Win 3 on 3 Tournament.
Phillips, Kazarnovsky, Alonzo took first place over all after the round robin to find themselves up against Team 2 of Gularte, Greenwood, Doucet. Henry took Coach Alonzo's Place for the Championship game and led the team to the first Championship title. Good work everyone, it was a great time.
11-01-07 Welcome The Henry's
David Henry will be joining our team. We are very happy to welcome him and his parents Becky and Steve.
10-26-07 Phoenix in Jan.
I would like to take all the boys to the Coyotes Vs. Anaheim game on Sat. Jan. 5th. We will get a group rate the 55 dollar seats will cost us 35 each and each person will get a hat and long sleeve T-Shirt. I need a head count of people besides players who will attend the game with us besides me and the other 2 drivers.
10-26-07 Need Updates ASAP
I would like to have all the boys send their bags into Tie goal to have all their equipment cleaned. We can get a good discounts if we all do it. We can have them pick up all the bags Wednesday night after practice and bring them back Saturday before our practice. Please send me a note asap if you are going to have your players gear cleaned. We have all seen the skin irritations and rashes from wearing their gear. When you wear it as much as our boys do its even worse. I do think this is a really good idea and we can take advantage of the group process.
10-26-07 Sharks Loose Cimoli For Season
We are very sad to see him go. We will miss him and we wish him and his family the best.
10-21-07 Sharks Go On First Winning Streak of the Season Topping Thunderbirds '92 2-1
We were able to pick up the extra game late last night. The Tournament director did a great job both with the tournament and helping us set up the extra game. In this game we should have had 6 goals, but we missed 4 EMPTY NET chances just to sum up our troubles scoring. The Sharks dominated play in the first period getting one tally off a beautiful cycling play from Reclusado and Kazarnovsky who gave it to Archer for the one timer goal. End of 1 Sharks 1 T' Birds 0. In the second the T' Birds really picked up their game coming out hitting and getting the majority of the good scoring chances as the Sharks looked flat. The T' Birds would get a late period PP goal off a poor face off in our defensive zone. End of 2 Sharks 1 T' Birds 1. The Sharks came alive again in the third getting 18 shots in the period and adding one late goal when Vallis fought off a smothering defensemen to tap in the rebound shot from Kann and Reclusado. As our aggressiveness slowly starts to come out of its shell we are getting better and better. It feels good to have our first winning weekend and our first winning streak of the season. End of 3 Sharks 2 T' Birds 1.
10-20-07 Sharks Feed On Blue Jackets 5-3
We had to rush to the game after our day at the paint ball range arriving at the rink at 4:45 for a 5:10 game. The boys were relaxed and playing smart and it showed on the board as we had our second highest goal total of the season. The Blue Jackets took a 5 minute major boarding penalty and we were able to get 2 goals on it. The first coming from Reclusado from Senkbeil, the second was Senkbeil's from Greenwood and Archer. The Blue Jackets would get on the board with 15 seconds left in the period. End of 1 Sharks 2 Blue Jackets 1. We would add a third PP goal when Licolli would finish a nice passing play from Sudol and Gularte. Again, just before the period would end. End of 2 Sharks 3 Blue Jackets 2. Greenwood would extend the lead off a great rush pass play from Licolli. We would get our 4th PP goal of the game with 1:55 left on the clock when Senkbeil would get his second of the game from Greenwood and Licolli. Unfortunately we would let up a bit and allow another late period goal. With everything that went on today it was a good game for us. I believe the boys are still growing at a good pace.
10-20-07 Paint ball was a Huge success.
Let me say that was a blast and I have the welts to prove it. Somehow for some reason I felt like a paint ball magnet. Team Purple won the first 2 games on 2 different woodsy fields. Team Yellow won the third, again in the third different woodsy field. Team Yellow won the first game in speedballs so we played a speedballs tie breaker and yellow took the title ("I Think They Cheated, as I was on Purple"). Everyone that played had a blast and we all look forward to doing it again.
10-20-07 Buffalo Too Regal For Sharks 5-3
We still ( I know again ) are not playing with any umph. There just seems to be no compete with our guys, watching all of the 12 teams that are here we most defiantly have the talent! Reclusado got us on the board first just 2 and a half minutes in from Licolli. We then took a couple of penalties back to back which gave Buffalo the momentum. They we get 2 quick ones before the end of the period catching our Defense sleeping in our zone and sent their forwards flying. End of 1 Sharks 1 Regal's 2. Just minutes into the second Buffalo would add another, and 4 minutes later another to extend the lead to 3. Sudol and Cochran had a very quite solid game for us on the blue line as the others struggled. Vallis pulled us one closer with a PP goal from Senkbeil. Vallis and Baron have been awesome the last 2 games followed closely by Reclusado and Kazarnovsky while licolli has been the steady horse picking up for missing bodies. Early in the first we lost Marten to a ankle problem and he was not able to come back in this tilt. End of 2 Sharks 2 Regal's 4. Mid way through the third Reclusado got his second of the game this time from Kazarnovsky. We really put the pressure on but again a little to late as Buffalo added a empty netter on a lucky icing play from his own defensive corner just turning and firing trying to clear. End of 3 Sharks 3 Buffalo Regal 5. Our biggest problem right now is lack of intensity, I cannot say that enough.
10-19-07 Sharks Blow Through Wheatfield 3-2
We are still not playing with much intensity. Everyone is playing the perimeter and not going to the tough areas. Wheatfield got on the board first mid way through the first which was the worst period for the Sharks. End of 1 Sharks 0 Wheatfield 1. Baron tied it up early in the second from Vallis. Baron, Vallis and Doucet where the best guys on the ice today. Vallis got us the lead before the end of the second when he stole the puck from the Wheatfield defensemen at the defensive blue line beat both of them down the rink and finished the play being hooked from behind. End of 2 Sharks 2 Wheatfield 1. Wheatfield scored a short handed goal when their forward jump up the rink receiving a great pass from his D man blowing right past our D and scoring on the breakaway. Kazarnovsky would get us the win shortly after stealing the puck at the top of the circle and wristing home the game winner. Mullane played great getting his first win in his first full game of the season. End of 3 Sharks 3 Wheatfield 2. Everyone is slowly coming around, we are playing well just with no aggressiveness.
10-19-07 Team Ohio Pulls Past Sharks 2-1
Sharks came out with jump when just 14 seconds in Greenwood put away the rebound from Licolli and Phillips. 31 Seconds later Ohio tied it up. Just 45 seconds into the game it was 1-1. Both teams settled down a little after that getting good chances at both ends. The Sharks would out shoot Team Ohio 2-1 for the game but the Sharks just could not find the back of the net. End of 1 Sharks 1 Team Ohio 1. Early in the second the Sharks were on the PP when very sloppy play in our zone caused a turnover and the Ohio team jumped on it scoring a short handed goal. End of 2 Sharks 1 Team Ohio 2. The Sharks had several good scoring chances in the third carrying the majority of the play the whole period. We are just having problems scoring, even when the open chances are there. End of 3 Sharks 1 Team Ohio 2.
10-14-07 Kings A Class Above Sharks 4-0
Lets go into the minds of 16 year old hockey players. The boys were following a game where they played very well, did a lot of good things and were not able to capitalize on the Wave mistakes. They came to this game thinking since they did so well against the Wave we could do the same thing and not have to work as hard to play the Kings. We came out slow, half the guys did not come out of the locker rooms until half way through warm ups. There was no intensity and the Kings made us look like we were not even in their division. We could not even execute simple passes because we were skating so slow everyone was afraid to touch the puck because the hungary Kings were right there to finish their hits. We played short 4 boys in the first because they cannot follow rules which really took the wind out of the sales of the rest of the boys. Hernandez played another good game but was just under fire. Luca entered the game mid way through the second and played very well also not allowing the Kings another tally. Baron, Vallis, Doucet, Che played very well today. At the end of the first the Kings were up 2-0. By mid way through the second they were up 4-0. This was a very tough game for everyone to watch, good thing its behind us.
10-13-07 Sharks Go Back To Midevil Times
We had a great time at Midevil times restaurant, and our Knight won the tournament. GO YELLOW.
10-13-07 Sharks Cannot Swim Through Wave 2-1
The First period was a good one. Both teams went end to end with good action around both nets. Hernandez was awesome today as he stopped 26 of 28 Wave shots, some he should not have made. End of 1 Sharks 0 Wave 0. The Wave picked it up in the second as the Sharks played on their heals most of the period. The Sharks would not get a shot on net until 3 minutes left in the period, but they did not break working through the pressure and the mistakes. End of 2 Sharks 0 Wave 0. The Wave got on the board early in the third with sloppy in zone play by the Sharks. Two minutes later they would add another. They had nothing left after that as the Sharks Dryland was put to good use. We really took it to them in the third. Vallis finally got us on the board putting away the rebound from Senkbeil. We pulled to goalie late and had two great scoring chances but could not finish. This was a very good game for the boys said coach Alonzo after the game, they saw what it was like to bend and not break. End of 3 Sharks 1 Wave 2.
10-9-07 Confirmation For NAHL Showcase in St. Louis
We received the confirmation today, we will be going to the NAHL Showcase @ St. Louis December 15th Weekend. Travel Arrangements coming soon.
10-5-07 Schedule Update
Check the Calendar for the update, We are going down south next weekend the 13-14.
9-22-07 U18AAA C-YA Sharks 4-0
The Chicago Young Americans came ready to play, and the Sharks were a little flat. They looked nervous, tentative, not confident like the rest of the weekend. The playoff format was 1 Thirty minute period game. Just 4:16 in CYA took the lead, less than 3 minutes later the would add another. With each goal you could see the life being sucked out of the Sharks. The Americans would add another at the middle mark of the period. The Sharks then woke up for about 5 minutes of game play. They had jump, looking like the team that played this weekend, but that was short lived and they did not see any immediate success so they sunk back into tentativeness. Right at the end of the game CYA added an empty net goal. I was very proud of ALL the boys this weekend. They had a lot to overcome mentally after the week they had and I feel they did it with class. They came to the rink to play and they played great. Thank you all for letting me help a little through these tough times.
9-22-07 U18AAA Move on to Semi's Vs. CYA
The Stars, Fury and Sharks all ended up with 6 points after the round robin. The Fury and Sharks knocked out the Stars with goal differential, but they were tied with with goals for and goals against so the tie breaker came down to penalties, the Sharks had 44 and the Fury had 68.
9-22-07 U16AAA Sharks Capital-ize 7-2
The boys were able to keep the intensity up they had in the morning tilt. We came out flying and were just to much for the Capitals. Doucet got us on the board with a beautiful individual play where he stole the puck at the defensive blue line skated down and deked the Lansing D man and wristed one by the sliding tender. Greenwood got his first of the season on a nice back hand PP goal from Licolli. Just 2 minutes later Baron added and unassisted goal. Just 2 minutes after that Kazarnovsky got his first of the game from Doucet and Che. Cimoli finished his deflection from Sudol and Kazarnovsky. Archer finished the period scoring from Fitzgerald. End of 1 Sharks 6 Lansing Capitals 0. Kazarnovsky got his second of the game from Marten just 2 and a half minutes into the second. You know what's next, the boys fell asleep, started looking at people in the stands, talking about other things, let their guard down and Waalaa the Capitals get 2 of their own. They were able to get back on their game with about 5 minutes left in the period which was a good learning experience for them. End of 2 Sharks 7 Lansing Capitals 2
9-22-07 U18AAA Stars Shine Over Sharks 3-2
The boys came out sleepy, no jump and seemed to be happy watching the Stars skate around with the puck. The Stars struck early with a bad goal while everyone on the ice just watched it all happen. This was no one persons fault everyone was in a daze. A little over 8 minutes in the boys woke up. Conroy got us on the board driving hard to the net and finishing off the Earnest rebound. Just a little over 2 minutes later Conroy would strike again with a wrist shot from the top of the circle on the off wing from Novakovich and Zehnder just as our PP ended. Before the end of the period the Stars would tie it up with their own PP goal that again drew some life out of the Sharks. End of 1 Sharks 2 Stars 2. The second was a little chippy. Both team exchanging blows and PP for most of the period but the Stars would score on a rare 5 on 5 situation just short of the middle of the period. The Sharks were just a little flat footed today, just short of the killer instinct they played with all weekend. End of 2 Stars 3 Sharks 2. The boys had their destiny in their hands for the first time this season and fell a little short, now they must wait and see the outcome of the other afternoon games to try and move on to the semi's.
9-22-07 U16AAA Honda Runs Over Sharks 3-0
The Sharks showed up ready to play. So far this was the best they played all season. Everyone was moving, working hard, and giving everything they had. The difference was Victory Honda Capitalized on the few Sharks mistakes and the Sharks could not capitalize on the Honda mistakes. Honda got on the board with 12:51 left in the first period but the whole period was played very even. They would add one more with only 55 seconds left in the first which seemed to deflate the Sharks. End of 1 Sharks 0 Victory Honda 2. They were able to shake it off in the locker room and came out skating again, but another small mistake at the 16:32 mark would allow Honda to add another one to the board. We had several good scoring chances but the Honda goalie was hot and we just could not solve him. End of 2 Sharks 0 Victory Honda 3
9-21-07 U18AAA Chicago Hath No Fury Like Our Goalie Perry 3-2
Perry was the key to the Sharks success today. When we were flat or disoriented he was right there to get us going and clear headed again. Conroy got us on the board just 4 minutes in from Speelman and Earnest. The boys really hunkered down and played great with a 1 goal lead. We killed off 3 Fury PP's and everyone was on their game. End of 1 Sharks 1 Fury 0. The beginning of the second was more of the same, we just played a steady consistent game just bending but not breaking. Then it came, about half way through the period the boys fell asleep, went back to drifting, not picking up assignments in the D zone. Perry was there to save us from most of them until the Fury got on the board with a PP goal. We continued to run around which allowed the Fury to tie it up at the 5:03 mark. Wow did the boys really bear down and focus then, with 2:34 Earnest got us the lead back from Speelman and Zehnder. Conroy, Speelman, Jonzzon, Pierson and McKenzie were awesome the last 51 seconds when the Fury pulled their goalie with no success. The boys really should be proud of themselves as they really played well against a very good Fury team. End of 2 Sharks 3 Fury 2.
9-21-07 U18AAA Sharks Cause Avalanche 10-1
WOW, the boys came out ready to play and really jumped on a team that was not. Conroy (Hat Trick), Speelman (1G,3A) and Pierson (3A, +5 Rating) lead the way to the 10-1 crushing. Jonzzon got us started just under 3 minutes in from Speelman. Emerson was next from Cimino, and just over a minute later Speelman got his own from Melman and Pierson. We then started to get complacent, but at the 8:26 mark Zehnder got a 4 on 4 goal from Jonzzon. Conroy got his first on the PP from Speelman to extend the 5-0 lead. That's when we stopped playing but the period was not over yet. The Avalanche would get on the board with just 1:01 left in the first when everyone lost their assignments left two Avalanche alone in front. End of 1 Sharks 5 Avalanche 1. The boys really got back on track during the break, when they came out in the second the scoring frenzy continued. Conroy got his second off a steal and break away goal low far blocker side. Novakovich scored on the PP from Melman and Zehnder. Tankard was next from Pierson and McKenzie again on the PP. Conroy finished his hat trick from Speelman and Earnest. All 4 of these goals came in the first 6 and a half minutes of the second. Emerson finished the scoring from Pierson at the 17:58 mark. The boys really slowed down at that point getting lazy and taking a few dumb penalties. The coaches called a time out to get the boys back on track and focused to stay on their game whether they are up by 10 of down by 10 to stay on target. That worked because they finished the game strong not giving up any more chances to the Avalanche. End of 2 Sharks 10 Avalanche 1
9-21-07 U16AAA Texas Attacks Sharks 5-1
The Sharks came out a little flat and were caught flat footed by the quick Attack team. The Sharks took 3 penalties in the first half of the first period but were able to kill them all off. A bad defensive play allowed a break away at the 7:41 mark that the Attack player would capitalize on. Instead of picking it up the Sharks slowed down and that allowed the Attack to extend the lead with 2:18 left in the period. Reclusado who has been great in both games got us on the board with a PP goal before the end of the period from Doucet and Kazarnovsky. End of 1 Sharks 1 Attack 2.The break did not help the Sharks at all as they came out even slower. Their positional play was ok but they were getting beat to every puck, losing every 1 on 1 battle just flat not competing. The Attack would add 3 more goals in the second half. Coach Alonzo said after the game that the Attack is not a 4 goal better team than us, we just did not compete today, It was disappointing to watch. I want to add a positive note Reclusado, Cimoli, and Hernandez have been outstanding. End of 2 Sharks 1 Attack 5.
9-20-07 U16AAA Down CYA 4-3
With the schedule change the Sharks would match up with the Chicago Young Americans instead of the Jr. Blues. CYA would jump out to a 1-0 lead 10 minutes into the first half of a lazy turn over outside the defensive blue line that turned in to a 3 on 2. That would not last long as the Sharks came right back to 2 minutes later on the PP as Reclusado wristed home the Kazarnovsky drop pass. Then shortly after Sudol would rush the puck up and get a shot vallis would jump on the rebound and get it back to Sudol who stopped in front of the net and tipped it home. Just before the end of the period Vallis would extend the lead with a 5 on 3 PP goal from Che and Sudol. End of the first half Sharks 3 CYA 1. Lots of even play in the second as CYA really stepped up their game. The Sharks would get another 5 on 3 goal from Kann and Greenwood. The Sharks got lazy after that getting off the game plan letting in 2 quick goals by CYA but really dug in the last 2:25 to hold on to the win. A great game by the sharks all but the 5 minutes after their 4th goal, but a good learning experience on how to play with a lead. End of 2 Sharks 4 CYA 3
9-20-07 U18AAA NIX NXI 4-3
A very slow start. The boys were a little hesitant with lots of sloppy play. In the first 8 minutes of the game we were down 3-0. The boys were running around in the zone and the NXI team would capitalize on sloppy in zone play. After the third goal Perry came in to relive Weckerle who got the start. That did not change the play of the boys so we had to call a time out. Getting the boys together just to calm down remind them of their responsibilities would start to turn the tide. Earnest would get us on the board with a short handed goal with 6:28 left in the first from Speelman. As the period continued we steadily got better but the NXI goalie was hot and keeping them game locked and 3-1. End of 1 Sharks 1 NXI 3. During the break the boys were very receptive to some minor adjustments in their attitudes and responsibilities which was key as they came out in the second half with jump. Cimino would close the gap just 5 minutes in from Novakavich and Emerson. Then the boys really picked it up but the NXI goalie was on his game. Earnest got his second of the game to tie it up with 6:51 left to play from McKenzie. We would get a late PP and Jonzzon would get the game winner from Speelman off a great turn over and 5 hole deke. The boys were fired up after the game and really pulled together to pull this one out. End of 2 Sharks 4 NXI 3
9-3-07 All Stars To Much For Sharks 5-1
Today we came out with no more jump than we had last night. We were sloppy missing pucks, loosing all the physical play and having a hard time keeping up with the All Stars Speed. A great example is the only goal that came in the first was a short handed goal by the All Stars who chased down a dump in that our D was going for very lazily. End of 1 Sharks 0 All Stars 1. The All Stars really started pressuring the Sharks in the second which caused the Sharks to run around and get very frustrated. The All Stars would get 2 early PP goals before the Sharks would finally get on the board when Fitzgerald finished off a Doucet, Kann play just before the period would end. End of 2 Sharks 1 All Stars 3. The third was more of the same as the All Stars dominated play and the Sharks could barley hang on let alone get anything going. The All Stars would add one more early in the period and finish off with another late in the period. End of 3 Sharks 1 All Stars 5. The hardest part about watching this game was watching the Sharks fall apart. Discipline and game plan went right out the window, with added bickering on the bench. We have a couple weeks to fix that before going to get some more very tough games in MN.
9-2-07 Kings Sink Sharks 3-0
Well we took a step backwards after the morning game. We were flat looking very tired. The first period was played fairly even but the Sharks just had no jump in their step. End of 1 Sharks 0 Kings 0. In the second it was more of the same the Sharks just could not get going as they had a 4 minute terrible laps that allowed the Kings to get 3 quick ones on the board. The Sharks were on their heels the whole period just trying to keep the Kings off of them. End of 2 Sharks 0 Kings 3. The third was more of the same, it looked like a controlled scrimmage were the Kings were always on the offensive. On a side note D played ok but Archer, Cimoli, Licolli, Doucet, Reclusado were real stand outs giving everything they had on every shift. End of 3 Sharks 0 Kings 3.
9-2-07 Sharks Go Wild 3-2
The boys really came out with jump today, everybody was moving with their heads in the game. The Wild would strike first a little over half way through the first, but it did not seam to phase the sharks. Just over a minute later Cimoli got his first of the season on the PP from Archer and Kann. With less than a minute left in the period we would get the lead on another PP goal this time 5 on 3 from Licolli assisted from Greenwood and Vallis. End of 1 Sharks 2 Wild 1. Early in the second we would extend our lead when Doucet made a beautiful play chasing down a Baron Dump in and stealing if from the Wild D man and finishing. The Wild would pick it us a step after that but that is how the period would end. End of 2 Sharks 3 Wild 1. The third period saw the Sharks a little on their heals as the Wild really came out flying. The Sharks were able to hold them off for the period except from one PP goal they got 5 minutes into the period. The boys really had to bear down late and they did. End of 3 Sharks 3 Wild 2. A much better game than last night the boys are starting to shake the cobb webs loose.
9-1-07 Season is Under Way
Game 1 of the 07-08 u16AAA season is now behind us. The Jr. Sharks locked up with the Colorado Thunderbird's 91 team that ended in a tie. It was the third game of the season for the T-Birds which showed as they had a little more patience and were not running around as much as the Sharks but the Sharks held their own skating with them the entire game. Luke Hernandez 91 Goalie for the Sharks was the difference in this game stopping 39 of the 40 Shots he faced to keep the Sharks in the game. The first period was fairly even lots of end to end action with little good chances at either end. End of 1 Sharks 0 Thunderbirds 0. In the second Sudol got us on the board with our first goal of the season on a wrist shot from the point assisted by Marten and Baron. That would only last a short time as the Thunderbirds would strike back before the end of the period that they mostly dominated play in. End of 2 Sharks 1 Thunderbirds 1. The third period saw the Sharks playing a little better than the second but the Thunderbirds still had the better of the play. End of 3 Sharks 1 Thunderbirds 1. All in all a very good first game of the season for us, it shows we have the talent now we just have to put it together.
